Today we will be dealing with 20 bible verses on Repentance and Restoration. Sin hinders blessings from being accomplished, it Hinders a man from accomplishing greatness. Sin also delays the promises of God from coming into fulfillment in the life of a believer. But genuine repentance brings reconciliation between man and God. When a man repents from his sin, the distorted relationship between him and God will be mended. And When a man is reunited with God through repentance, there will be a restoration of lost blessings, hindered breakthroughs, and missed opportunities from God.

 

Joel 2:25 “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. The eyes of the Lord are not too heavy to see our situation, neither are his hands too heavy to save us. But it is our sin that has created a barrier between us and Him. When we repent from our sin, our salvation is restored. And we take back the position we once lost in God. When this happens, the covenant of restoration will begin to work in lives.

 

The moment Isreal fell into sin, the covenant of God over their life came to a halt. The people of God that were meant to be leaders became laborers. They were meant to live in abundance yet, they are living in penury. Until Isreal repented from their evil ways and went back to God that was when things began to change for them. The God who has the power to restore everything brought back His covenant for their lives as people and as a nation.

 

We have all lost one or two things to sin. Our time has been delayed as a result of sin. But when we repent, there will be a restoration. God will restore everything we have lost to sin and iniquity, but first, we must repent from our evil ways. We have compiled a list of 20 bible verses on repentance and restoration, study them diligently.

 

1. 2 Chronicles 7:14 

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

 

2. 2 Timothy 2:24-25

And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth.

 

3. Joel 2:25-26

I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. And my people shall never again be put to shame.

 

4. Psalm 51:10-12 

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.

 

5. Isaiah 61:7

Instead of your shame, there shall be a double portion; instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their lot; therefore in their land, they shall possess a double portion; they shall have everlasting joy.

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus. Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you.
