Today we will be dealing with 20 bible verses about Humility.

The bible talked at length about the qualities and characteristics a Christian should possess. Humility is one of the great tool a Christian needs if the goal is to work for God and win souls for Him.


The bible says God resist the proud, meaning if you want to serve God you have to be humble. In one of Jesus’preaching He said “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth”. A Christian must be humble . An humble person have so much to learn and gain from the wise ones God has placed around him.


What does the word humility means for a Christian?
Humility is the state of being humble, which means as a Christian we must show a modest or low estimate of one’s own importance or value if you want to learn more from God and people around us. Twenty bible verses have been collected about how we can be humble and also how God sees the humble people too.

 

1. 1 Peter 5:1-8

So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.

 

2. 2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

 

3. Philippians 2:3-11

Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.

 

4. Deuteronomy 8:2-3

And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not. And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.

 

5. 2 Chronicles 34:27

Because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before God when you heard his words against this place and its inhabitants, and you have humbled yourself before me and have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you, declares the Lord.

7. Ephesians 4:1-3
