Who is a leader?

A leader is a person given the authority to lead or command a group or organization, company, country, head a church or fellowship activities and so on. Leaders are necessary in order to bring orderliness to a place and also have someone who will direct and lead his followers well and right.

As a leader in a Christian setting it’s appropriate to follow the footsteps of Jesus, He led His disciples well without giving preferential treatment that might cause disputes among His followers. A leader should be faithful, diligent,honest and most importantly stay true and honest to his words. Some of the qualities of a good leader are accountability and transparency, not discriminating due to his followers religion or tribe.

As Jesus said a leader should lead by examples so that people can talk about Him when He leaves the position as a good person and he will be greatly rewarded by God. 1. Matthew 20:25-28

But Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. It shall not be so among you. 2. Hebrews 13:17

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.

Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.

So I took the heads of your tribes, wise and experienced men, and set them as heads over you, commanders of thousands, commanders of hundreds, commanders of fifties, commanders of tens, and officers, throughout your tribes.

Today we will be dealing with 20 bible verses to encourage small group leaders. Are you a leader of a small group and you are almost giving up on your leadership position due to the retard growth of the group? Do not worry, you are not alone in this struggle. God’s plan is to make every small group big. Whether you are the CEO of a small company and you are aspiring to make your establishment the market leader but all your efforts have continued to prove abortive, do not give up yet, God has a great plan for you.

There is no harm in starting small. Every leader of a large congregation started small too. The largest Christian gathering in the world also started with few members. When you are working in alignment with the will and purpose of God, don’t give up, God will increase you soon. If you are a leader of a small church group, don’t relent in your struggle. The Kingdom of heaven must be populated and it is the joy of heaven to watch you grow into a large group of believers.

As you struggle to become big and great, pray for the strength of God. Whoever gives up in the face of adversity is considered a weak leader. When you are greatly equipped with the strength of God, you won’t bow to the pressure of the enemy. While prayer is very important in ensuring your growth and development, you can gather strength and encouragement from the scripture.
