Today we will be dealing with 20 bible verses about How to follow Christ.

Jesus Chris is our standard and role model as Christians, we only look up to Him as the author and finisher of our faith. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and also life. It was said that Jesus was sent to us to die for our sins and make every crooked ways straight for us. Jesus is so powerful and wonderful that He made a way for everyone of us who have decided in our heart to renounce our old ways and accept Jesus as our Lord and savior. Only Jesus can save.

First step to following Jesus is to accept Him and worship Him alone meaning that we have to do away with every other things in our live that does not glorify Jesus. After accepting Jesus into our lives, then we study our bible, study the word of God with our fellowship brethren and seek knowledge if necessary.

We have to do away with our old ways as Apostle Paul said in the book of Romans that we should do away with flesh and be spiritually minded. Twenty bible verses have been collected on how to follow Christ and obey his instructions.

 

1. 1 Peter 2:21

For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.

Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

 

3. Matthew 7:21-23

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.

And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.

 

7. Matthew 4:19-25

And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Immediately they left their nets and followed him. And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him. And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people.

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.
