Today, we will be dealing with 20 Bible verses about Humility
BE HUMBLE. PRIDE STINKS
Luke 14:10 NLT “Instead, take the lowest place at the foot of the table. Then when your host sees you, he will come and say, ‘Friend, we have a better place for you!’ Then you will be honoured in front of all the other guests.Luke 14:11 NLT “For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”Pride goes before destruction.
When we are in a place of authority or fame, we must not think so highly of ourselves and look down on others. The Bible charges us not to think we are better than we are but we should be honest in the evaluation of ourselves.
God resist the proud and gives grace to be humble (James 4:6). And when we humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, he will lift us and exalt us in due time. When God exalts and puts me in a place of grace and authority, I must remain humble and remember where by mercy I was picked up from.
Prayer: Dear Lord, when I’m in the place of authority, help me to stay humble. Bring to my remembrance how you made no reputation for yourself and humbled yourself to the point of death. Amen.
1. 1 Peter 5:1-8
So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.
2. 2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
3. Philippians 2:3-11
Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.
4. Deuteronomy 8:2-3

Because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before God when you heard his words against this place and its inhabitants, and you have humbled yourself before me and have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you, declares the Lord.
