Today we will be dealing with 20 Bible verses about the law.

Law is defined as the rules and regulations set aside to govern the affairs of a community, state, or nation. As we have laws in the country, so there are laws in the kingdom of heaven. While we may not be talking about the Kingdom laws, we will pitch our tent around the law that guides the affairs of a country.

Over time, we have seen people disobey the law of their country. It would interest you to know that some Christians also hide under the disguise of Christianity to bypass the law of their country or state. This is not good enough.

As believers, we are subordinate to our state or country. And Christ taught us to obey constituted authority. It would be recalled that even Christ paid tax when he was on earth. How will a country or state declare a curfew and you people will still defy the law to go out? how can a Christian refuse to pay tax just because you have paid your tithe?

In the book of Mark 12:17 Well, then,” Jesus said, “give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God.” His reply completely amazed them. Your tithe and tax are two different things and they serve different purposes. As a citizen of a sovereign state, you owe your country duty of care as much as the country owes you.

Your tax is to your country while the tax is a covenant between you and God. So you should not refuse to pay tax simply because you have paid your tithe and vice versa. The law of your country is supreme and it must be obeyed. To better understand the supremacy of law, we have curated a list of 20 Bible verses about the law.
