Today we will be dealing with 20 bible verses about Obedience
As Christians obeying the word of God is an important aspect of our christian journey in this life. In the old testament we saw that God gave Moses ten commandments that He should read it out to the Israelites and they should obey them. God loves obedient children. Obeying God’s word means you’re not going against what He said and you believe that He alone is God and has authority over your live.
Obedience is a compliance with an order, an Instruction, request , submission to God’s authority. Obedience they say is better than sacrifice. We saw that every Instructions given to father Abraham in the bible by God was obeyed by him. Disobeying God’s word will lead us no where. We see that some characters in the bible disobeyed God and it led them to their destruction, we see how Samson ended his life due to disobedience, Israel cursed his children because they disobeyed him. Joseph obeyed God and he was rewarded greatly and he became a ruler of his enemies. Let’s read the bible verses below that talks about the benefits of obeying God words.
1. Isaiah 1:19
If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.
2. 1 Peter 1:14
As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance.
3. Exodus 23:22
But if you carefully obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.
4. James 1:22-25
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.
5. Romans 6:16
Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?
6. Hebrews 13:17
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.
7. Deuteronomy 4:39-40
Know therefore today, and lay it to your heart, that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other. Therefore you shall keep his statutes and his commandments, which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for all time.

9. Joshua 22:5
Only be very careful to observe the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways and to keep his commandments and to cling to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
10. Leviticus 26:3-10
If you walk in my statutes and observe my commandments and do them, then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. Your threshing shall last to the time of the grape harvest, and the grape harvest shall last to the time for sowing. And you shall eat your bread to the full and dwell in your land securely. I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid. And I will remove harmful beasts from the land, and the sword shall not go through your land. 11. 1 Samuel 15:22-23
And Samuel said, “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and presumption is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has also rejected you from being king.
12. Colossians 3:22
Slaves, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.
13. Romans 6:17
But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed.
14. Philippians 2:12
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
15. 1 John 5:2-3
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.
