Today we will be dealing with 20 Bible verses about showing Compassion.

Compassion means showing care , mercy, extending helping hands to our neighbors just like the story of the good Samaritan. Of course we know that Jesus Christ is compassionate, this shows when He went out of His way to feed multitude of people that have been listening to Him preach for a long time.

His disciples said He should send them home to look for what to eat, but He insisted on feeding them instead. That’s how mercy and compassionate our Father is. In Mark.8.1 – In those days the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples unto him, and saith unto them,
Mark.8.2 – I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat: Jesus Christ had compassion on those who gathered unto Him,to hear Him teach.

We as Christians should also be compassionate on people around us whether known or unknown faces.Lord anoint me that I will go about doing good and extend your compassion to people. 1. Mark 6:34

When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And he began to teach them many things.

 

2. Colossians 3:12-13

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

 

3. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

And when they came to Jesus, they pleaded with him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy to have you do this for him, for he loves our nation, and he is the one who built us our synagogue.
