Today we will be dealing with 20 bible verses about speaking the truth.

Jesus told us to speak the truth always. Jesus is the truth. When we speak the truth we show that we are just like our Father who art in heaven. The bible says we should be holy just like our Father Jesus Christ. One of the ways we can be like our Father is to speak the truth always and everytime.

An honest man will be valued and honored wherever he is. He will be believed by so many because every word that comes out of his mouth is the truth. Being a liar disqualifies us as a Christian. One of the features of a Christian is saying the truth always when we are in public or where no one can see us.

There are many benefits of saying the truth and even our God loves and honest man. Jesus is the truth. We serve an honest God therefore we His followers should be honest at all times. When we feel like saying the truth at a particular time is difficult and not easy to do we can call upon the holy spirit to help us with everything that we come out of our mouths. As the holy spirit will fill our mouth with what to say.

The scripture has so many verses that talked about the importance of saying the truth always. Twenty bible verses have been collected to help us study some of the verses that talked about saying the truth always.

 

1. Ephesians 4:15

Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.

 

2. John 8:44

You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

 

3. Psalm 15:2-3

He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart; who does not slander with his tongue and does no evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend.
