Today we will be dealing with 20 Bible verses from freedom from captivity
We were once captives in the bondage of sin and Satan. We were born in spiritual and carnal bondage. We were captured and under the spiritual control of Satan while our flesh is also carnally under his influence because we were made to disobey God who made us and also the flesh do things that are contrary to God’s will.
All these put us in the bondage and brought about the guilt of death. God was not happy with with Satan’s bond on us which turned us away from Him. Hence He set a plan in motion to grant deliverance and redemption for all men from the hands of the devil but with the precious and spotless blood of His only begotten son Jesus Christ .
As humans are fashioned in the image of God the creator of the entire universe as long as there is breath of life in us it is mandatory for us to offer praise, worship and adoration to our makers.
This is the primary purpose for our existence which we are obliged to offer all the time. 20 Bible verses that talked more on the importance of praising God for our past deliverance has been collected in today’s topic.
1. Galatians 5:1-8
For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Look: I, Paul, say to you that if you accept circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you. I testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is obligated to keep the whole law. You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace. For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness.
2. Romans 8:1-4
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
3. Galatians 5:13-14
For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
4. Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
5. Isaiah 61:1
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.
6. Galatians 4:3-7

7. 1 Corinthians 6:12

That the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
9. Luke 4:18-19
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
10. 2 Peter 2:18-22

They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved. For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. What the true proverb says has happened to them: “The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.
11. Galatians 5:16
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
12. John 16:13
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.

Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed.
