Today we will be dealing with 20 comforting verses to read when mourning.

when mourning our loved ones,it’s always a sad time of our lives that we always wish it never happened. When mourning all sorts of feelings sets in and we begin to question God why He allowed something of such to happen. Let’s know that God loves everyone and take comfort in the fact that He has provided a better place where there’s no suffering, harm, tears for our lost friends or loves. Everyone will die but our prayer has always been that we should all live long and not die an untimely death.

God is with us at all times and He has left some comforting words for us in the scripture that can help us get through and overcome the feeling of losing our loved ones.

Let’s believe that they’re in better places and now dining with the prophets and angels and now watching over us. Some comforting bible verses have been collected together to read when mourning. Let’s read and pray with them together for the bible says those that mourn shall be comforted and God said He will give peace to them too.

 

1. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

 

2. Matthew 11:28-30

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

 

5. Isaiah 40:1-2

Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and cry to her that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received from the Lord‘s hand double for all her sins.

He sets on high those who are lowly, and those who mourn are lifted to safety.
