Today we will be dealing with thanking God in difficult times in bible verses. In life, difficult times will come. There is no way we can escape it as long as we are still alive. In difficult times when the storm of life comes raging at us, it will seem like God is in no way near us. When we pray it will seem like God is not listening, in some cases, it might cause us to doubt the existence of God. During this moment, we are very vulnerable to the antics of the enemy. This is one period of our lives the enemy waits for to deceive and win us over to his side.

 

God wants us to give thanks even in difficult times. The scripture told us that in life we will face tribulations but be of good faith because Christ has conquered the world. So when we face tribulations, when we are going through the fire, we must learn to give thanks. Our thanksgiving will pave the way for our breakthrough. The more we give thanks to God the faster our miracle comes. We have compiled some Bible verses for thanking God in difficult times. It will open our eyes understanding to know why it is important to give thanks even in hard times.

 

1. Psalm 34:1-4 

I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

 

2. Isaiah 57:15

For this is what the high and exalted One says – He who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place, But also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, To revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of the contrite.”

 

3. Acts 16:25-26 

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.

 

4. Psalm 35:28 

My tongue will proclaim your righteousness, your praises all day long.

 

5. Habakkuk 3:17-19 

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.

 

6. Psalm 103:1-6

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.

 

7. Hebrews 13:15 

Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise – the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.

 

8. Psalm 30:1-4 

I will exalt you, Lord, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me. You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit. Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people; praise his holy name.

 

9. Psalm 95:2-3 

Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

 

10. 1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

 

11. Psalm 16:7-8 

I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

 

12. Psalm 69:30 

I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify him with thanksgiving.

 

13. Psalm 63:3-4

Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.

15. James 1:2-4

20. Psalm 150 

Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary;  praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!

 

21. Romans 4:19-21

“And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.”

 

22. Habakkuk 3:17-18

“Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.”

 

23. Joel 1:12: 

“The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.”
