Today we will be dealing with 20 bible verses about family problems. There is no family that doesn’t have a problem peculiar to them. Most times we call these problems generational problems because they are passed from one generation to another. Abraham’s family had this problem. Barrenness was the problem in that family. They always experience barrenness for years before having children. Abraham experienced it, and Isaac experienced it the same as Jacob. In this same family, all the first children are not always as successful as their younger brothers. Isaac was better than Ishmael, Jacob was better than Jacob and Reuben was not as prosperous as his brothers.

Some family problems could be sickness. It could be a delay in marriage. And if you check closely, this problem will be peculiar to every member of that family. It will affect them all. While we offer numerous prayers against family problems, we have highlighted 20 bible verses about family problems too. We must break free from all family problems. There are so many people whose lives have been affected by the family problem. They are not the cause of the predicament troubling them but they are suffering bitterly for it. Until we all destroy the yoke of family problems, nothing will change. 1. Ephesians 6:1-4 

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

 

2. James 4:11-12 

Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?

 

3. Matthew 10:35-37 

For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household. Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

 

6. Proverbs 1:3-7 

To receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity; to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the youth— Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance, to understand a proverb and a saying, the words of the wise and their riddles. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.

 

8. Psalm 127:1-5

Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep. Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.

 

9. Exodus 20:12 

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

 

10. James 1:12 

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

 

12. Genesis 1:26-27

15. 1 Timothy 3:2-5 

Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s church?

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

 

17. Proverbs 11:29 

Whoever troubles his own household will inherit the wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise of heart.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
