Today we will be dealing with 20 bible verses about light and light. Light and Love is a full representation of Christ Jesus. The scripture said for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whoever believes in him will not die but have everlasting life. Before Christ came to the world the world was in total darkness chaos and despair with senseless destruction of people through the power of sin. The world was in complete darkness and destruction was upon the surface of the earth. When Christ came and started His ministry, He served as a light in the midst of darkness and everywhere His feet touched, the power of darkness was defeated in such places. The scripture said how God anointed Jesus Christ With the holy spirit and power who went about doing good.

Christ as the light shined forth in darkness, and the darkness of the world couldn’t overcome him. Remember, it was the stars of Jesus that brought the wise men into Jerusalem when Christ was born. This means Christ is light. And about love, more often in the scripture, the bible recorded that Christ was moved with compassion. Compassion is a product of love. Christ loves the world that is why He decided to leave himself as a sacrificial lamb to be killed for the atonement of sin.

That’s why Christ told us emphatically that the greatest commandment is love. He would not have gone through that pain and reproach if not that He was moved with love for mankind. After his mission on earth, He went to prepare a place for us and He sent the holy spirit which served as our light. And now that the holy spirit dwells in us, we have become light. And as light, we are expected to shine. Also, we are expected to love our neighbors as ourselves just like Christ loved the church. Let’s study these 20 bible verses about light and love.

4. Matthew 5:14-16

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

5. Luke 11:33-36

No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light. Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, your body also is full of darkness. See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be just as full of light as when a lamp shines its light on you.
