Today we will be dealing with 20 bible verses about Obedience.

Obedience they say is better than sacrifice. When we obey God, God is always happy with us. Obedience means compliance with an order, instruction, request ,law to mention a few. It also means submission to an authority. As christians if we want God to direct our paths for us we have to submit totally to Him as this way, we handle all of our ways and step to God for Him to direct and lead.

When God lead our lives we will never suffer nor go astray. Remember when God gave Moses the instructions on how to deliver the Isrealites from the Egyptians, it was recorded in the bible that Moses obeyed God and did everything God told him to do and he got a good result.

This is one of the perfect example of someone who listened to God’s instructions and directions. When God direct our paths, we will be like a tree planted by the river side, so today’s topic is encouraging us to listen to God’s Instructions and be obedient as there’s a reward for everyone who obey God.

 

1. Isaiah 1:19

If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.

 

2. 1 Peter 1:14

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance.

 

3. Exodus 23:22

But if you carefully obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.

 

4. James 1:22-25

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.

Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?

 

6. Hebrews 13:17

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.

 

7. Deuteronomy 4:39-40

12. Colossians 3:22

Slaves, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.
