Today we will be dealing with 20 bible verses about Parents.

Children are God’s gift given to us. All parents wants their children to be great and successful and end up with a good career when they grow up. It’s not easy raising our children since they are God’s gift that must be cherished and nurtured by us. Being a mother and a father it’s not an easy task, we have to be emotionally, physically, mentally and financially available for our children. God’s direction is all what we need as parents to train our children in the way of the Lord. The instruction given to parents in the bible is that they should train up their children in the way of the Lord and when they grow up they won’t depart from it.

Training up our children to be good and responsible to the society is a task given to us by God that we must not fail to accomplish. Twenty bible verses have been collected in today’s topic to help parents understand and have the knowledge on how to train and nurture their children.

 

1. Ephesians 6:1-4

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

 

2. 2 Corinthians 12:14

Here for the third time I am ready to come to you. And I will not be a burden, for I seek not what is yours but you. For children are not obligated to save up for their parents, but parents for their children.

 

3. Mark 7:9-13

And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition! For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’ But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever you would have gained from me is Corban”’ (that is, given to God)— then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother, thus making void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

 

8. Exodus 2:1-8

Now a man from the house of Levi went and took as his wife a Levite woman. The woman conceived and bore a son, and when she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him three months. When she could hide him no longer, she took for him a basket made of bulrushes and daubed it with bitumen and pitch. She put the child in it and placed it among the reeds by the river bank. And his sister stood at a distance to know what would be done to him. Now the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river, while her young women walked beside the river. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her servant woman, and she took it.
