Today we will be dealing with 20 bible verses about Repentance.

The bible talked about the second coming of Jesus Christ where many will be tried and if found guilty will be punished. Salvation is for everybody. Today’s topic is to bring to the notice of everyone who are believers that still act as unbelievers and also those who need to accept Jesus as Lord and personal saviour to do so before it is to late


What does it mean to repent?
To repent means to feel or express sincere regret or remorse about every of your wrongdoings or sins. It’s expedient that we renounce our old ways and follow the path God has laid down for us so we can enjoy eternal life and blessings with God. The bible says every one should repent of their old ways for the kingdom of God is at hand and many that refuse to do so will be punished . Stop postponing your salvation because the next time might be too late for you. Always remember that after death is judgement.

 

1. 2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

 

2. Acts 2:38

And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

 

3. Ezekiel 18:30-32

Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, declares the Lord God. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin. Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; so turn, and live.

 

4. 2 Corinthians 7:9-10

As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting. For you felt a godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us. For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.

 

5. Luke 3:8-9

Bear fruits in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham. And said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

 

7. Psalm 51:1-4

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet went to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin! He will not leave you or destroy you or forget the covenant with your fathers that he swore to them.

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
