Today we will be sharing with you 20 Bible verses about serving in the church. The scripture said we are Christ ambassadors called to serve human needs through our potentials until the body of Christ is built up. Christianity is all about service to God and humanity. In our capacity to serve God, we are expected to serve in the house of the Lord.

Our service in the church could be based on appointment or voluntary. Whichever one it is, we need all the motivations and inspirations we can get to always forge ahead. Speaking of motivation and inspiration, the scripture has so many verses that will teach us the true art of serving in the church.

So many believers serve in the church so that they will be noticed. They want people to know it was them who did something at one point or another. And they lose the heart of serving when no one is noticing them. The true worshippers serve in the church without expecting any gains.

It doesn’t who is watching or who is not. They just want to make themselves useful to God. And because they believe so much in serving God, they do not care if someone will reward them or not. For you to better understand the proper way to serve in the church, we have curated a list of 20 Bible verses about serving in church to help.

1. 1 Peter 4:11

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.

For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
