Today we are dealing with the power of the holy spirit verses KJV. The holy spirit is God in man. That means everything that makes God God is inside a man, including His power. The scripture said in the book of Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. This means the natural nature of man is weak. But power comes when the Holy Spirit comes upon a man.

The apostles didn’t get power while working with Jesus. All the years they worked with Christ, they could not perform any miracle. They could not even cast out demons or heal the sick. They were just following Christ. Recall when they were on the boat and it was about to be wrecked by the storm, Christ was asleep and there was nothing the Apostles could do to salvage the situation. Until Jesus came and stopped the wind. This is proof that they were without the power of the holy spirit.

Apostle Peter denied Christ thrice because he was scared. The remaining apostles went back to their former profession after the death of Christ. But on the day of Pentecost, the day they received power, their voice went out to the utmost part of the earth. Peter that could not stand with Christ in the face of tribulations stood in front of thousands of people to defend the gospel and through his sermon souls were converted. Apostle Peter healed the lame man at the beautiful gate, all these were done through the power of the Holy Spirit. Little wonder Jesus told his Apostles to wait in Jerusalem until they receive power. Jesus knew they would not be able to do much until they receive the power of the Holy Spirit. It was after the Apostles received the holy spirit that they were sent abroad.
