Today we will be dealing with 20 bible verses about a father’s love. The first thing that comes to mind when we hear about a father’s love is the care and attention we enjoy from our earthly father. But before we come to the love of our earthly fathers, let’s first discuss the love we enjoy from God the father. The scripture said in the book of John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life. The father loves us dearly and that’s why he sent his only begotten son to die for our sin.

Even while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. God is our heavenly Father and His love for us can not be overemphasized. He watches over us like a shepherd tending to the sheep. He allows us to enjoy his grace and protection just because we are his own. Just as God loves us, He urged us to love ourselves. The scripture admonished that we love ourselves just like Christ loved the church.

Similarly, as fathers, we must love our wives and children. Men are built for strength and agility, that’s why God put them in the position of being a provider for the family. A man who doesn’t love his family will ensure that his family is properly provided for. He ensures that they are protected. Just like Christ is the head of the church, the man is the head of the family and he is expected to take care of his family just as Christ is taking care of us.

Some fathers are just called fathers because they have children. However, they have failed in every possible way to discharge their duties as fathers. A Christian who understands the nature of God must love his children dearly. We have compiled a list of 20 bible verses about a father’s love.

For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
